A Parent's Guide to Altys Controls

A Parent's Guide to Altys Controls

Altys puts you in control of your child's experience. This guide walks you through all the tools available to customize Altys for your family's needs and values.

Setting Up Focus Topics

Focus topics tell Altys what subjects you want emphasized in your child's content. If your child is working on reading skills, you can prioritize literacy content. Interested in STEM? Boost science and math activities. These preferences shape the songs, stories, and conversations Luma creates.

Blocking Unwanted Content

Every family has different comfort levels. Our blocking system lets you specify topics you don't want your child to encounter - whether that's scary stories, certain themes, or anything else. Luma will gracefully redirect conversations away from blocked areas.

Weekly Summaries

Stay informed about what your child has been exploring. Weekly summaries show you conversation highlights, content created, learning progress, and any areas of interest that have emerged. It's a great way to start conversations about what they've been discovering.

Time Controls

While Altys is designed to be enriching, balance is important. Set daily time limits, schedule "quiet hours," or require breaks between sessions. You decide what's right for your family.
